Amanda+Profile+Pic_edited.jpg

Chief Executive Officer

Amanda Nicholls

Amanda Nicholls has an uncanny ability to spot two things before anyone else: the next big food trend and the flaw in your strategy. As a leader, she’s known for sharp thinking, straight-talking advice, and an enthusiasm for new ideas that is both inspiring and mildly dangerous.

Spend enough time around Amanda and you’ll likely leave with a better plan, a new favourite restaurant… and possibly a tattoo you didn’t see coming. If you’re really unlucky, you may also find yourself singing karaoke.

Gordon.webp

Senior Consulting Architect, Integration Specialist

Gordon Inkson

Gordon Inkson is known for his depth of experience, thoughtful approach, and what is widely believed to be the largest personal collection of Doc Martens in circulation. While others may have a “few pairs,” Gordon appears to operate on a different scale entirely - with options suited for every occasion, whether required or not.

Outside of work, Gordon’s loyalty is firmly with Celtic FC, a team he supports with full commitment and zero hesitation. Whether it’s match results, club news, or general discussion, Gordon doesn’t just follow Celtic - he fully embraces everything about them!

Business Services Executive

Teryll Irvine

Teryll Irvine is the master of balance - which is impressive considering she’s completely outnumbered by “her boys” at home. Between keeping up with the chaos of a household full of them and keeping things running smoothly at Cyma as our Business Services Executive, Teryll has developed a remarkable ability to stay organised no matter what’s happening around her.

When she does manage to carve out a moment for herself, it’s usually spent adding to her ever-growing Goodreads list or doing something the rest of us find mildly alarming - voluntarily getting up before sunrise for a 5 am F45 class.

Karl_edited.jpg

Head of Client Services

Karl Tecke

Karl Tecke brings thoughtful leadership, practical problem-solving, and a suspicious number of “pre-booked” boys’ fishing weekends to the table. He’s always happy to roll up his sleeves and tackle challenges - provided they don’t clash with a trip to the batch or a carefully planned day on the water.

Outside of work, Karl’s true passion is cheering on his children from the sidelines of their football games, where he’s widely believed to be one of the most committed supporters (and occasional unofficial commentator).

Laura.webp

Client Services & Delievery Manager

Laura Askew

Laura Askew keeps things running smoothly as Cyma’s Client Services & Delivery Manager - a role that requires patience, organisation, and the ability to manage many moving parts. Fortunately, Laura is well practised in dedication and loyalty, skills she has clearly honed through her unwavering support of the New Zealand Warriors.

Outside of work, Laura’s priorities are refreshingly clear: spending time with her partner Brooke, cheering on the Warriors, and obsessively following the spectacular failures of the Balloon Fest fiasco between rugby league, her fur babies, relationship bliss, and balloon chaos. Laura keeps life - and everyone around her - well entertained.

Senior Barkitect

Remi

Remi is Cyma’s resident Senior Barkitect and security extraordinaire, taking his role very seriously, particularly when it comes to monitoring lunches. With a highly refined talent for identifying packets of soup buried deep within team bags, no matter how well hidden they may be.

He’s also been known to conduct thorough inspections of Uber Eats deliveries (occasionally from the inside of the bag). When he’s not on security duty, Remi enjoys destroying cardboard boxes with impressive efficiency and doing high-speed zoomies around the office. Between food surveillance, box demolition, and energy bursts, Remi ensures standards - and entertainment levels - are consistently upheld across the team.

Reuben.webp

Consulting Architect, Solution Specialist

Reuben Olson

Reuben Olson is one of Cyma’s Consulting Architects, bringing thoughtful insight and a well-rounded perspective - no doubt shaped by being the only male in a household full of strong female energy. As a dedicated girl dad, he’s well practised in balance, patience, and knowing when he’s outnumbered, and is rarely seen without one of his signature colourful shirts, adding a bit of personality to the mix.

Outside of work, Reuben has a passion for cooking (and eating) just about anything, always keen to try new flavours and cuisines. He’s also one of the most well-travelled members of the team, having explored over 50 countries and spent around two years travelling the world with his wife. Proving he’s just as comfortable navigating new places as he is with complex architecture.

Ave_edited.jpg

Head of Business Services

Averil Orsbourn

Averil Orsbourn is known for her organisational skills, which is fortunate given the Olympic-level coordination required to manage the Orsbourn family sports calendar. Between her own hockey games and supporting her children at theirs, weekends are less about relaxing and more about strategically moving between fields, turfs, and sidelines.

When she does manage to carve out a rare quiet moment, Averil can usually be found with a glass of Central Otago pinot and a book -  making the most of the opportunity to relax and, importantly, keep up appearances at book club

Vijesh_edited.jpg

Co-Founder & Director

Vijesh Nangia

Vijesh, one of Cyma’s founding Directors and Principal Solution Architect, brings deep technical expertise and is well known in architectural circles. He’s as comfortable solving complex problems as he is imagining his alternate career as a Bollywood actor and singer - a path he’s clearly still keeping open, complete with a flair for the dramatic.

A dedicated fan of Tom Cruise, Vijesh doesn’t just admire from afar - he’s taken it a step further and can actually fly a plane. Between architecture, coding, and potential movie stardom, Vijesh brings a level of capability (and ambition) that keeps things interesting.

May.webp

Senior Consulting Architect, Business Specialist

May Wong

May is a Business Architect at Cyma, known for cutting through the noise, bringing clarity to how organisations operate and evolve to achieve their goals. She is great at making sense of complexity and helping organisations see how things really fit together.

Outside of work, May loves travelling and Disney.  Exploring different countries fuels her curiosity for how systems and businesses work in the real world, reinforcing her belief that good design is both intentional and adaptable. When she is not figuring out your business, she is likely planning her next trip... or finding ways to bring a little more magic into the everyday.

Senior Consulting Architect, Enterprise Specialist

Mark Smith

Mark Smith brings sharp thinking and a love of deep questions to his role as one of Cyma’s Senior Consulting Architects - which isn’t surprising, considering he studied philosophy. Known around the office as our very own Mark “Word” Smith.

When he’s not untangling enterprise architecture, Mark can be found working on jigsaw puzzles, crafting a mean faux-vogels, or thriving without a car. His wife is a passionate proponent of transformative sustainable living, one of his daughters is an opera singer, the other is a senior urban transport planner with a love of crafts and dancing, so there's rarely a dull moment.

Jas_edited.jpg

Consulting Business Architect

Jasmita Parag

Jasmita is a Business Architect, bringing fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and a love for problem-solving. Known for her calm focus and keen eye for detail, she’s already making her mark with our customers.

When she’s not architecting smarter ways for businesses to work, Jasmita is likely out paddleboarding, dreaming of the day she can balance a puppy in her life, and sampling whatever delicious food she can find along the way. Between the water, future furry companion, and culinary adventures, Jasmita is proving that great architects don’t just design systems, they plan for life too.

Jon.webp

Consulting Architect, Cloud & Infrastructure Specialist

Jon Hulme

Jon Hulme brings deep infrastructure expertise to his role as a Consulting Architect, making sure everything stays up, running, and under control. He’s calm under pressure - which makes sense, given his past as a surf lifesaver (straight out of Bondi Rescue).

When he’s not managing complex systems, Jon can be found open water swimming in conditions most people wouldn’t even paddle in, or at home with his wife and three kids - arguably his most demanding environment of all.

Claire+Accru+Day+2_2_edited.jpg

Senior Finance Business Partner

Claire Mortimer

Claire Mortimer is known for her creativity, attention to detail, and a remarkable ability to develop a hyper-focused interest in whatever craft trend has most recently crossed her path. What starts as a “quick project” often turns into a full-blown deep dive the rest of us can barely keep up with.

When she’s not mastering her latest creation, Claire is usually spending time with her beloved dachshund Remi - or unwinding with a lycée cocktail and planning the next project.

Co-Founder & Director

John Owen

John Owen, one of Cyma’s founding Directors and Principal Architects, brings experience, perspective, and a calm confidence that comes from having seen (and solved) it all before. He’s known for cutting through complexity and helping organisations find a path that actually works - and for seemingly knowing just about everyone along the way.

Outside of work, John is often found doing what many only talk about - biking his way around Europe, taking in the scenery one ride at a time. When he’s not on two wheels, he’s out on the water, with a passion for blue water sailing. And after a day of cycling, sailing, or architecture, he’s partial to a well-made cocktail, proving that balance is just as important outside of work as it is within it.

David.webp

Consulting Architect, Solution Specialist

David Hosking

David Hosking combines top-tier technical skills with a highly refined coffee consumption strategy. As Onda’s best customer, his desk is often transformed into a colourful display of cups, each one keeping him running at peak technical performance.

At home, he shares life with his son and his wife, who is a vet nurse, and a revolving cast of furry and occasionally feathered residents - some temporary, some permanent - proving he’s just as good at managing pets as he is at managing complex technical challenges.

Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his family, bringing the same steady, thoughtful approach to life as he does to his work.
